NOTES
Letter from
the president
If you’re like me, you jotted down
a list of New Year’s resolutions –
perhaps training for a triathlon, los-
ing those last five pounds or paying
off that last bit of debt. But the sad
truth is that come February, most of
us will have thrown in the towel. In
fact, one survey found that a third of
us drop our resolutions before the
end of January.
Experts advise that the key to
keeping New Year’s resolutions
is to make them practical. In our
Winter 2013 HealthLink, you’ll find
useful tips to keep you on track –
everything from how to keep winter
weight off to learning what fitness
shoe is best for your feet.
You’ll also discover why it’s im-
portant to get to a hospital at the
earliest signs of stroke, and our
cover story focuses on metabolic
syndrome – a serious condition that
is growing at an alarming rate.
Whether your New Year’s resolu-
tions are sitting by the wayside or
going strong, our staff and physi-
cians at Saint Agnes Medical Center
are committed to keeping you and
your loved ones on the road to
good health. That’s our pledge for
the new year and well beyond.
In good health,
Nancy Hollingsworth, RN
President & CEO
